Myrtle Beach Autism-Friendly Vacation

Let’s talk about autism beach vacations!

This week we continue our autism vacation series with a loved and cherished vacation spot, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Check out our link to view our first week in the series Autism on The Seas

Myrtle Beach is the first autism-friendly travel destination.

Autism mom, Becky Large, moved to Surfside Beach and saw an opportunity to create a community that warmly welcomes kids with autism.

The town of Surfside Beach helps create a low key sensory experience for kids with autism.

No need for families to explain an autism meltdown or behaviors.

Travel can be a challenge for kids with autism including the change of schedule, noise, lights, and crowds.

This is an opportunity for families to truly have an enjoyable, relaxing, safe vacation.

Surfside Beach, Seaside Town

Families are accommodated from the time they reach the Myrtle Beach Intl Airport, where you will have access to the Quiet Room free of the hustle and bustle of the busy airport.

You have a choice of hotels with specially trained staff who understand kids on the autism spectrum.

The hotel also assists with keeping families in quieter areas of the hotel and providing expedited meals in the dining room.

The staff works hard to assist families to make their stay comfortable.
